At some point it became impossible to ignore the pile of homework that was due by the end of the week. Fair, he was annoying to most professors. But he never missed a deadline, even if it meant having to work all night to finish it. For once he was kind of on time in the library. It was a bit crowded, which was normal though. Everyone was very serious about homework, apparently.

To complete his own assignment, he needed to research some potions. He wanted to do great on this one, because the professor was actually the house master of Slytherin. Then he needed to find those damned books though. Oskar climbed one of the ladders to reach one of the upper shelves. Skipping over the titles, he saw the book he actually needed, just out of reach. If he tried really hard though.. He leaned sideways and tried to grab the book, but couldn’t get a could grip on it. The book slipped through his fingers and fell down, right when another student was walking by.

Surprisingly, the young Slytherin student showed up at the library today. The idea of Alyssia actually going to the library to study was beyond anyone's expectations, but yet here she was, walking through one of the aisle's full of bookcases. She wasn't sure which subject she was going to work on today, but at least she was determined to do at least something.
On her way to an empty spot in the library she already got distracted. A few steps ahead of her she noticed a Slytherin student who was clearly struggling with.. whatever he was doing. She kept an eye on him and his situation as she walked by, but just as she was about to pass him she got attacked by a book that fell down from it's shelf. "Hey, watch it!'' She instantly replied while kneeling down to pick up the book. Before giving it back to him she took a quick look at the cover. "Potions, huh?" She said while waiting for the Slytherin student to come down so she could it hand over.

Told you I’m torturous when you feel the force of this blast. You’ll crash like a cardiac explosion, bitch. Bloody body, broken nose, screw it it's a bloodbath. Try to get away but there’s no escaping Alcatraz

It was so typical for him to be clumsy when the timing was far from right. These books were old, ancient even. Probably very fragile as well. For all he knew it could just fall apart and turn to dust when dropped from too high. Aside from that, they were heavy as fuck as well. If anyone happened to get it on their head, it would probably hurt quite a lot. When he looked down, he immediately recognised Slytherin’s very own quidditch captain. Of all people. The stress was clenching at his throat and he could barely breathe, until he quietly gasped for air. He stumbled down the ladder and reached for the book. ”Eh, yeah! Homework got much harder compared to last year”, He explained with a slight shrug. ”I’m sorry about that, by the way”, He continued, motioning to the ladder. Luckily she didn’t actually get hit.

De Slytherin student chuckled after his response. He was right, even though in her eyes homework was always hard, even in the first year. She just didn’t like studying at all, she’d much rather practice and learn trough trial and error. “Don’t worry about it.” She said as she playfully fist-bumped his shoulder. “Maybe I can help you out a little?” She continued. “I mean, not that I’m good at potions, but I somehow passed the fifth year.” She barely understood her own homework, but maybe she would be able to help someone out with their homework for once, instead of being the one that needed help studying all the time.

Hopefully word wouldn’t get out that he had almost hit the Slytherin quidditch captain in the head with a book. He wasn’t that popular among his peers as it was, and she was like a local legend in their house. He had been accused by other Slytherins before. They claimed he wanted Gryffindor to win the quidditch matches. Only because his sister was the captain of the other team. Which was not something he had in control, was it? If people found out what he had almost caused here, then maybe they would think he had done it on purpose.

Luckily Alyssia didn’t seem angry. So perhaps she would keep it to herself. Even more so, it seemed like she was very willing to help him out with his homework. ”Really? You’d help me?” He asked surprise. ”That uhm, that would be nice of you! I honestly want to do this right, because, you know, professor Winter..”, He said, motioning his hand around as to make clear how serious the situation was if he didn’t pass this.

The Slytherin fifth year seemed surprised, yet happy with her offer to help him out, which she completely understood after hearing the name ‘’Professor Winter’’. Not only was she the potion professor, but head of their house as well. She was the one professor most Slytherin students didn’t want to piss off. Sometimes she’d wonder how things would be if instead of professor Winter, professor Xiaoyu became head of the house, but that was probably even worse on long term. At least professor Winter taught her students some discipline, which could be very handy later on in their lives. “Alright, tell me about your homework.” The Slytherin captain replied after sitting down at the nearest table. Hopefully she didn’t give the fifth year high expectations about her non-existent ‘’potion skills’’, but at least she was willing to help.

If there was one professor at Hogwarts he was scared of, it was professor Winter. Not because she, as a person, was scary. No, the scary part only started after disappointing her. She had a very specific way to express that disappointment. It made him feel horrible and ashamed of himself. Two feelings he’d rather avoid. So when Alyssia suggested helping him out a bit, he gladly took her offer. ”Alright”, He smiled while sitting down, putting the book down in between them. ”I need to write an essay on the properties of moonstone and its usage in potion-making”, He explained. ”I already know about the draught of peace potion, but I can’t fill all the pages on just that”, He continued. ”So I wanted to see if there are more potions I could write about.” Hopefully she had a useful suggestion.

The Slytherin student sat down beside her and and put down his book in between the two of them. She carefully listened to the explanation of his homework while tapping her fingers against the surface of the wooden table, like she always did when she was thinking. “Moonstone, hm.” She mumbled, desperately trying to remember something about moonstone. “I believe it’s used in some love potions? But we’ll have to look that up.” It was the only thing she could come up with for now, sadly. Love potions were pretty boring. They would be great for pranks, though. If Hogwarts wouldn’t have banned them.
