adopt now: stray cat
Travelling all the way to London all by himself had been quite the challenge. Not only was he in a country he had never been in before, he also had no clue how public transportation worked at all. On top of that, there was the anxiety of asking strangers for help. He felt out of place, to say the least. His accent was a weird mix of Russian and British, while he looked Asian. Nothing seemed to add up, when looking at the bigger picture. Luckily, no one questioned his presence though. When he finally managed to ask an airport employee for help, the woman explained happily how he could get to the address he had written down on a piece of paper.
And now, he was standing in front of that door. Her door. He felt a bit like a street cat about to sneak in a home he hoped to be welcome in. Again, his heart was racing, but this time he didn’t doubt for too long. He hadn’t seen her in years, and he was not planning on waiting any longer. So he entered the shop. His hands were shaking slightly when he opened the door. He was nervous and excited at the same time. Slowly he stepped a bit closer to the counter, waiting for her to answer the bell that had sounded when he had pushed the door open earlier.

FALLS FROM GRACE
ARE NEVER ELEGANT
ARE NEVER ELEGANT
The silver haired witch sighed in despair as she poured herself another cup of tea. This seemed like an endless afternoon without any customers. To her it even seemed like the shop was getting more and more quiet every day, and it worried her. Not only did it worry her, but It frustrated her as well. Coming from one of the richer wizarding families and ending up not being able to pay your bills would be a disgrace, but unfortunately muggles didn’t seem to be into fortune telling that much anymore. Such a shame.
The silence that haunted the shop was broken by the sound of the bell. A sound that she’d almost forgotten. The fortune teller got up from her chair and walked towards the entrance. “Good evening, what can I-“ As soon as she met the gaze of the customer before her she froze for a moment. Was she hallucinating? Did the ageing potions suddenly have side effects? “Cassian?” She whispered. Not being able to process the whole situation she just stood there staring at him, waiting to hear his voice.

Re: adopt now: stray cat
Years of hard work had led up to this moment. Getting a complete new identity in a place like Moskou had proven to be quite a challenge. Not only did he have to deceive the regular government, but the wizarding one as well. He had bribed people, pulled some strings here and there, ask for favours, all that fun stuff. All because he had been kidnapped from his place of origin as a mere child. He had no clue where he came from, what name his parents had chosen (if they had even gone through that trouble if they had already planned on handing him over to Russia anyway), or what day his birthday actually was. With the help of astrology he had pinpointed a vague period, but he could be a day or two off. Either way, he did not need to know any other name than the one she had given to him on that faithful day, years ago.
A name she would always carefully pronounce, lacing it with love and affection. Or.. Confusion, as she did now. A gentle smile curled around the corners of his mouth. ”Cami”, He replied, almost as soft as she had spoken. The surprise on her face explained enough. She probably couldn’t fathom the reality of him being here, in London. In her shop. Cassian bridged the distance in between them, wrapping his arms around her. It had been five years, or six, he had lost count. But every day he had felt an emptiness, one that only she could fill. By having her in his arms, she filled the void in his heart as well. ”I missed you so much.”
