All these minutes passing
Both of them were in the same year and had almost the exact same lessons. Yet there he was, standing alone at this dark lake. Victoria was still in class, one he didn’t follow. Of course they couldn’t always be together, the boy knew that, but that didn’t make it any better. Talk to people, get to know them, make friends, show them what a kind man you are. All words his mother had onces spoken to him. Every time he had told her that he would try his best and every time he’d been lying. Vasily had his sister, wasn’t that enough?
A frustrated sigh left between his teeth at another stone that disappeared in the lake. His dark eyes were fixed in that one spot, where the water was still moving. Nothing was coming. “Oh, come on, aren’t zerre supposed to be monsters in zis lake?” he muttered to himself. Quickly he picked up a new set of stones, keeping them in one hand. What was he expecting? A giant Kraken jumping out of the lake to devour the whole castle? Vasily shook his head at the thought before tossing one stone at the lake, making it jump on the water a few times before it went under.

She needed a breather, she really needed it. The red hot rage was still boiling inside of her. The small clouds that appeared where a perfect sign of it. Not like they were there because it was cold outside. The longer she walked, the calmer the fire became. But also the more tired she became. It started to feel like a whole big mess. She never had been taught to be accepting of all that was harmfull towards her. Yet every time she spoke up to the teacher, calling him out, the same thing happened. She was a mere child that knew nothing and was not allowed to disagree with the all knowing teacher. She felt nothing but pure rage every time her thoughts wandered back. She had gotten all the way to the Great Lake without even noticing it. Where your thoughts could take you. It turned out that she wasn't the only one at the lake, a Slytherin boy from her year was throwing stones into the water. “Oh, come on, aren’t zerre supposed to be monsters in zis lake?” she heard him say, barely audible. She moved closer before answering the question that had been in no way directed to her. "I'm pretty certain there are but they are deeper and probably not fans of stones. You need something better to bait some."

The stone hit the water with a soft plop. Outside it was already getting darker, not because it was late, but rather because the season. Days grew shorter. Vasily was one of those people who liked winter over summer. Night over day. His former students sometimes teased him with that, telling him that he might be a vampire and he would play along.
At the sound of a voice, he raised his eyebrows and turned around to face the intruder. The red colors told him enough. The rival house, Gryffindor. In comparison to others, he didn’t really mind them. Wouldn’t call them out, be even meaner. He wouldn’t waste time on a thing like that.
With almost animal-like grace he tilted his head to the side, a small grin spreading over his face. “Volunteering?” his dark eyes kept hovering over her, waiting for her response. He dropped the remaining stones all at once, by during his palm to the ground. Did he dare to throw her in the water? Or at least try?
The girl looked angry in a way and he hoped it wasn’t directed at him. Wouldn’t be the first person to blame him for something he didn’t know about.
